Our Death-Defying Commute!

Katy and I disagree on the awesomeness of the road we live on.  I argue that the twisty windy nature is fun to drive on.  She counters that having a heart attack each way is probably not all that healthy.

You decide:

Miss you all,
Schyler

Psssssst... Katy here. I just wanted to add, even Schyler said "this video makes the road look TAME," so I am not a weenie. Today there was a head on collision on these turns and the cars were "shredded" according to Bama and Aunt Ann. Again, I am not a wiener.
Love,
Katy

Follow up again from Schyler here, the accident mentioned above was NOT in the curvy part, but on a straightaway. Just to clarify.

GEOGRAPHY!

As in, where are we, exactly?

This is a map hanging on Bama's wall of the whole area, but I zoomed in on the important part. Look just to the left of that "B" in Blue (the word Ridge not pictured). See...

it says Fairview, and that's where we are. If you can't see it, move your face closer to the computer. I don't know how to make this zoom.  Yes, the map is 3D. Yes, it is very awesome. While we're talking about awesome, this is what it looks like when you look out of the living room window.

You see the porch in the foreground, a little corner of the pool, apple trees, and then lots and lots of mountains. There's a garden down there, too. Yesterday, Bama planted peas.

Inside the living room, there is a Schyler and a Bleu, home after a day of running errands.

That's all for now. We're still unemployed and still have no cell phone service and still check our email and facebook. KEEP IN TOUCH.
Love,
Katy

MOVING!

Here we are.
Celebrating Valentine's Day at a Blues game... we played the Canucks and won. This was just 4 days before we took off for our grandest adventure yet, moving to Fairview, NC without jobs. Without any ideas. Just moving.
Well... just moving with ALL of this stuff. That is a 17' truck holding nearly all of our personal possessions. Schyler is standing in front of the truck with his arms out to show how big the truck is, he has about a 6' "wingspan." They say the truck should hold about a metric crapload.

Many of you may be thinking, "Katy, I thought you get SO nervous in cars. How would you survive going all the way to North Carolina in a truck like that?" I didn't. Schyler went alone in the truck and I took Bleu in our car, similarly loaded with stuff. I was NOT nervous to be driving, I was nervous to watch Schyler drive. So Bleu and I went our own way, faster than Schyler, and stopped along the way to see things like...
THIS. I had previously never driven into Metropolis proper to see the gigantic Superman, this was a great opportunity. I wish Schyler had been there to take my picture between his legs... or just next to him.

We drove all day and finally made it. We're here now. In Fairview. Staying with Bama, settling in, and searching for jobs.
When we returned the U-Haul, I actually had to stay with Schyler. After to 15 miles to the storage place I realized that I wouldn't have made it if I had to see this all the way from Missouri. Notice those right tires GOING OFF OF THE ROAD (I took this picture while I was driving, so I have no room to talk, though). Heart attack!

Anyway, that's all for now. Our cell phones are not working here at Bama's, but I am still keeping up with emails and facebook, SO KEEP IN TOUCH!

Love,
Katy
